KEREONE CLUB.

ANNUAL TENNIS DANCE. The KJwitahi-Kereone Tennis Club held its annual dance and presentation of trophies in the local hall recently. There was a large attendance, including a number of former players of the club, and a most successful evening resulted. Muslo was played by an orchestra from Morrinsville, and extras were played by Mr A. Reid. After supper, served by the ladies’ committee, the trophies were presented, Mr D. Reid, chairman, congratulating the successful players and the club, and remarking that the prospects for the coming season were brighter than ever. The trophies were won as follows: Ladles’ championship singles and handicap singles: Miss M. Hyndman. Men’s championship singles: W. Watts. Ladles’ handicap doubles: Mesdames W. Watts and H. Mclntyre. Men’s handicap singles: H. MacQueen. Combined handicap doubles: L. R. Harris and Mrs Moyes. The olub’s art union was won by Mr G. Tapper, of Morrinsville. A very pleasing presentation was made to Miss G. Nlcholls, the retiring secretary of the club, who is leaving the district. Miss Nlcholls suitably responded, after which musical honours were accorded. Mr Mclntyre had charge of the dance floor.
