ANNUAL DANCE.
HAMILTON BOROUGH COUNCIL. VERY PLEASANT FUNCTION. An original and most effective decorative scheme had been carried out in the Masonic Hall, Claudelands, on Saturday evening on the occasion of the annual dance of the staff of the Hamilton Borough Council, which was well attended and very warmly enjoyed. A gay spirit prevailed from the outset and made the function a highly successful one.
Tall trees of bamboo reaching to the ceiling had been arranged about the hall and on either side of the stage, and had transformed the room, giving a cool and feathery effect. A cascade of gold and green streamers hung from the central lights, and lovely bowls of golden mimosa had been artistically arranged on the stage. Excellent muslo was played by the Mayfair Orchestra and novelty dances added greatly to the amusement of the evening. Mr W. G. Seabrook was M.C. During the evening a delicious supper was served. A tribute is due to the committee whose splendid supervision had done so much towards the undoubted success of the evening. The Alayor and Mayoress, Mr. and Mrs. J. R.
