Progressive five hundred and competitions were the entertainment arranged by Mrs. A. R. 'Holmes, when she was hostess at the fortnightly afternoon party held by the members of tlie Cambridge Croquet Club. Mrs. I). Glanvilie and Mrs. 'IT. Hall won prizes for five hundred and Mrs. Simcock and Mrs. W. J. Oxbrow won the competition. Musical items were given by Mrs. Oxbrow, Mrs. Holmes, Miss F. Hooker and Miss Ina Holmes. Among those present were:—Mesdames H. White, J. Watt, A. Gane, W. Hooker, C. Boyce, 0. Gane, W. Maberlev. W. McLarnon, W. Beer, J. Ibbotson, H. Hall. Misses M. Fisher, Gane, and T. Rummina.
