CLARK CUP PLAY.

WAIPA BEATS HAMILTON. (Special to Times). TE AWAMUTU, Sunday. Having beaten Cambridge on Wednesday, the Waipa juniors met Hamilton at Te Awamutu on Saturday, winning by 16 points to 14 after a very even game throughout. Following were the teams: — Hamilton: Young, Perkins, Haughey, Shaw, Hoporoft, Manson, Tetzlaff, L. Rolley, Pearce, Blunt, Keen, Hubbard, McKenzie, Scott and Johnson. Waipa: Morgan, C. Teddy, Newton, Porotene, O'Brien, MoEwen, J. MoGovern, Lawry, Heppinstall, Cavanagh, Hughes, Emery, Jones, Falconer, Tautokl. Hamilton attacked from the start and had Waipa In trouble until the looal forwards bustled clear. The Hamilton -backs were throwing the ball about and were unlucky in not soorlng. Hoporoft received and the ball travelled to Perkins, who soored well out. Johnson failed with the kiok. Waipa attacked and kept Hamilton on defence. McGovern seoured and the ball travelled to Newton but he lost it. Porotene picked up and dodged over for Morgan to oonvert. Hamilton were quick to retaliate and when Morgan fumbled Hopcroft was there and went over in the oorner. The kiok failed. The visitors were unluoky in not scoring when the 'ball travelled baok and forth across the field. Waipa, in a bustling rush carried play downfleld and in a nice passing movement Porotene again scored and Morgan converted. Waipa again attacked and Hamilton were kept defending until Shaw secured on the line and raced downfleld where he was brought down at Walpa’s 25. Half-time came with the scores— Waipa 10 Hamilton - 6 Upon the resumption the Hamilton forwards bustled through and Johnson scored, but Young’s kick was just under the bar. A series of scrums and lineouts enabled Hamilton to get out of trouble and Shaw dashed up the line, and then tihe forwards bustled through for Johnson to soore a try. Young failed with the kick. Play went up and down field, and then the Waipas oombined nicely for Newton to cut. In to score a try. Morgan’s kick f.ell Just short. The visitors attacked persistently and McKenzie was pulled down almost on the line. Waipa worked out of trouble and soon Newton and Teddy combined for the former to score. Morgan again narrowly missed with the kick. Waipa were having the best of matters now, but Shaw and Hoporoft sent them on the defensive. Then Perkins oiut-pointed the opposition and scored under the posts. Haughey converted and the game ended— Waipa 16 Hamilton - 14
