DOG SHOW FACILITIES.
KENNEL CLUB’S PROPOSALS. DEPUTATION TO SHOW SOCIETY. A deputation from the Hamilton Kennel Club comprising Messrs D. D. Wilson and F. B. Hall met the executive of the Waikato Agricultural and Pastoral Association at the latter’s request at their meeting to-day to discuss a proposal by the club to hold their dog shows in conjunction with the agricultural fixtures. Mr W. Ranstead, the secretary of the association suggested at a meeting with the Kennel Club that an agreement was desirable.
Mr Wilson, in putting forward liis club’s case, stated that it was imperative that the club should have a new building to accommodate suitably the dogs and with Royal Show being held in Hamilton next year there would be three times as many dogs on show. 11c suggested that if the association put up a building at a cost of £2OO the Kennel Club would provide £l5O for benches. Excellent facilities were provided at Hawke’s Bay, Palmerston North, and Wanganui for dog exhibitors. Mr R. A. Hinton the chairman of the Agricultural and Pastoral Association said it would be necessary to have an agreement with Hie Kennei Club for a number of years. However, he assured the deputation that his association would he sympathetic towards the club and Ihe building would lie erected if possible. The matter was referred to ihe finance committee, u decision to be made later.
