Two bandits, using a powerful sedan motor-car, from which the back window had been removed In order that pursuers might be fired upon, between 12.30 and 2.30 this morning robbed four motorists and attempted to rob another. The crimes occurred in a suburban area. In each case the bandits, who were' masked, drove alongside parked cars, threatened the occupants with pistols and demanded money. The demands were acceded to in four cases, the bandits getting about T 6 and some jewellery from women passengers. The last attempt failed as the motorist saw the bandits in time and drove rapidly away. Three police patrols began a search for the bandits and found their car, but the men escaped.
