ACCIDENTS IN AUSTRALIA. 272 KILLED, 4222 INJURED. DUE TO EXCESSIVE SPEED. United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright. SYDNEY, July 22. The Traffic Superintendent in Sydney, Inspector Stanton, describes' as alarming the car and road accidents, which, in the six months ended June 30, totalled 272 killed and 4222 injured. Compared with the same period last year the deaths were 14 fewer but the injured were 925 greater throughout New South Wales. Inspector Stanton says the trafflo records prove that 80 per cent of the fatalities were caused by excessive speed.
