LONDON, July 22. - Enlargement of the heart of athletes is a fallacy, according to investigations made by three Australian research scientists, whose two years’ study of Melbourne University oarsmen shows that while there might be a slight enlargement during exercise the normal heart becomes smaller after exercise than when resting. British specialists, quoting the Australians in the medical Journal, the Lancet, declare that they have never seen a strained heart, and that muscular effort in cardiac injury is greatly exaggerated..
