NEWS FROM TE KAWA.
THE PING-PONG CLUB. The Te Kawa Ping-pong Club held a very successful night for its open- ; ing recently. Nearly 50 enthusiastic i players attended, and a very enjoyable evening was spent. It was decided to' start handicap matches for the Gup at next meeting, and members are looking forward to some very interesting games. HAPPY SOCIAL EVENING. The Te Kawa branch of the Presbyterian Bible Class entertained members of the Pokuru Bible Class at a social evening In the hall this week and a very happy evening was spent In games, singing and competitions. CARD EVENING. A very successful bridge and 500 card evening was held In the supperroom at the hall recently in aid of the hall building fund. Mrs R. Mexted and Mr F. Thomas won the prizes for the highest bridge score, and Mrs Chestnut and Mr B. Thomson were the winners of the 500 competition. A delicious supper provided and served by the ladies closed a very enjoyable evening.
