BOROUGH POWER.
HAMILTON EAST ARIA. ADDITIONAL PLANT REQUIRED. Reporting to the Hamilton Borough Council last evening. the borough electrical engineer, Mr I. Webster. stated that the electrical loading in the Hamilton East area had increased to such an extent in the last few years that an additional bank or transformers was required in this area to meet the increased demand and to provide for the continuity of supply. At present there was only one set of transformers supplying this area, and if a serious breakdown occurred the consumers would be cut 01! while repairs were errected. He suggested that the additional transformers should be installed at the corner or Clydeand Grey Streets, and he asked for authority to call for tenders for the transformers and other material required, some or which would take five to six months to procure. He estimated the cost 0! lie work at £550. The council decided to grant the authority requested.
