THE “AJAX" CLAW.

‘ RIMARKABLE le INVIN'I'ION. During the last few years great advances have been made in the manufacture oi' milking machinery and ae—cessories which all go to lighten the lot of the dairy iarmer. There are imany important parts of the milking ;machine which have received the ’special attention or various manufac.turers, but no invention will be more iweleomed than the “Ajax" Claw. ‘ Some considerable difilculty has been experienced by some farmers in hand—ling and looking after the Claw, which is an all important part oi’ every milking machine. The “Ajax" Claw, which was invented by 6. local dealer and under the patentee and proprio—tary of Messrs. A. 11. Atchley and Company, 0! Courthouse Lane, Auckland, has done much to simplify the handling and cleaning of this unit. The new ulaw is sanitary and un—breakable and with no solder in its construction can be taken to pieces in a few minutes. All Joints are screwed and this gives that added speed which saves the farmer unlimited time. It also :has a large milk outlet in the centre, giving equal weight on all (our tents and has a much wider spread than other claws. This does away with the necessity of propping up on cows with large udders or widespread teats. Another feature is the large milk tube which receives the milk direct lrom each cup. allowing a quick getaway and making for quicker milking as well as obviating one or the prin—cipal causes why the cups fall off. This innovation is on display on a stand in the main annexe of the Show, where Mr lleid. of Messrs. Reid Bros.. the local agents, will be pleased to demonstrate the Claw. ills Hamilton address is in Alexander Street, Just near the rear entrance to the Great Bargain Stores.
