CHARGE OF RECEIVING.

MOTOR TYRES INVOLVED. REFUSAL OF BAIL. (Special to Times.) PUTARURU, Wednesday. Arrested yesterday by Detective A. J. White, of Hamilton, on a charge of receiving stolen goods valued at £l2l Bs, Wallace Robert Boyd, aged 38, appeared in the Police Court at Putaruru this morning. Mr A. E. Williamson, J.P., presided. It was alleged that on or about April 28 accused received from a man giving the name of Dick Grant eight motor tyres valued at £l2l 8s knowing them to have been dishonestly obtained. Bail was asked by Mr Mason, who appeared for Boyd, when the accused was remanded to appear at Hamilton on May 27. The application was opposed by Mr White who stated that he had been purchasing goods at far below their cost price. Other charges -were pending. The application was refused.
