SILVER WEDDING.

MR AND MRS T. COCHRANE. A very enjoyable evening wras spent in the Masonic Hall, Pukemiro, on Thursday, the occasion being the silver wedding of Mr and Mrs T. Cochrane. Friends from Hamilton and surrounding districts extended Mr and Mrs Cochrane best wishes for another 25 years. On behalf of the friends in Pukemiro, Mr Robinson presented Mr and Mrs Cochrane with a handsome chiming clock, for which Mr Cochrane warmly returned thanks. Mr \V! Cochrane and Miss Cochrane received the guests, Miss Cochrane wearing shell pink shot satin and lace. Mrs Cochrane wore a black frock. A lovely silver teaset was presented to Mr and Mrs Cochrane from their family. Green’s Orchestra (Hamilton), played excellent music. The Bluett Sisters (Hamilton), gave some very clever items and Master Bluett a violin solo and elocutionary items. The hall was tastefully decorated with coloured streamers and lanterns. •Novelty waltzes were won by Master and Miss Bluett, Mr Cochrane and Mrs Johnston. A parcel post caused much amusement. The happy evening closed with the singing of Auld Lang Sync. Music properly used is stated to Increase the. output of factories; it improves the rhythm in manual work.
