WOMAN KILLED.
TWO MEN INJURED. CHRISTCHURCH, Monday. Mrs Helen Adam (56), died in the Christchurch Hospital last evening following an accident in Ferry Road, when she was struck by a motor-cycle and sustained severe head injuries and a compound fracture of the right leg. The rider of the motor-cycle, J. Raistrick, of 60 Antigua Street, received head injuries, which necessitated an operation, and his condition is serious. L. Wchner, of 10 Disraeli Street, who was riding on the pillion, also had to be operated upon for severe head injuries, but his condition was stated to be not so serious as that of Raistrick.
Mrs Adam was crossing Ferry Road near its intersection with Grafton Street at about 5.5 U p.m. She had almost reached the pavement when she was struck by the motor-cycle, which was going toward the city. Wehner was thrown toward the footpath, hitting a lamp post. The condition of both the injured men was reported this morning to be slightly improved.
