ROTOTUNA AFTERNOON.
MISS J. HOLDAWAY HONOURED. Almost 50 ladlea. assembled at the residence of Mrs J. D. Ho Id away recently to honour Miss Joyce Holdaway on the eve of her marriage. A pleasant afternoon was spent in competition, and vocal and ins true cn til Items.
A pianoforte solo by Miss Shute and vocal duets by Mrs K. MacDonald and Miss Clement, accompanied Iby Mrs Hope, were much appreciated. Two interesting competitions were much enjoyed, and were won 'by Mrs Macdonald and Mrs Carson, the prizes being handed to the guest of honour. Mrs K. Borman asked Miss Holdaway to open and accept a number of parcels containing kitchen gifts, with the congratulations and good wishes of her friends. Miss Holdaway, who was wearing cerise inarocain with cream trimmings, was assisted by her cousin, Miss R. Shute, and suitably replied-
