WAIHOU SOCIAL.
WELL ATTENDED FUNCTION. On the occasion of the opening of Mr Dick Lewis’ store, a social was held at which the attendance numbered over 200. Mr J. D. Macky spoke on the important part Mr and Mrs Lewis had played in the development of Waihou. Mr Lewis, after replying, was accorded musical honours. Dancing was enjoyed during the evening, and at a conversazione eulogistic speeches were given by Messrs R. W. Stevens. W. O. Kennedy. R. Burke, N. Smilh. E. Aislabie and E. Trotheway. Concert items were contributed by Messrs G. Goodfellow, T. Moses and W. Jonas.
