FOG IN HAMILTON.

MOTORIfl'S DILAYID. EFFECT ON IKAILWAYS. Appearing shortly after dark, a fog again covered Hamilton and suburbs (luring the night. By eight o'clock, so great was its intensity that motorists were again called upon to exercise the greatest caution. Traffic on the Hamilton-Nguruawahia highway is reported to have been delayed considerably, one motorist. taking over an hour to cover the 12 miles.

At the Frankion railway yards shunting operations were delayed con—siderably by the fog, which hampered the reading of the signals. but all expresses were reported this morning to be running to schedule. Reports from Morrinsvilie show that conditions there were similar. . OAR! LIAVI ROAD. _— CONDITIONS A’l‘ TE A’WAMUTU. CAPSIZE OF VEHICLE. (Times Representative.) TE AVVAMUTU. Friday. Cold, 'bleak conditions, with steady rain in the morning, prevailed yesterday at Te Awamutu. A thick mist enveloped the country< side. developing into a dense fog shortly after dark. Visibility was greatly restricted, and driving was hampered, particularly in the low-lying parts between Rukuhla and Ohaupo. “This evening's fog is the worst 1 have experienced in these parts." said one motorist. “There was no safety on the road unless the drivers travelled at a snail's pace." Travelling from Hamilton at about 6 p.m. Mr 'T. H. Coupland, a transport driver, of Te Awamutu, encountered difliculty in the vicinity of Rukuhia School when his car left the road. overturning in a ditch.

Assistance was obtained immediaately, but it. was not until three hours' later that Mr Coupland was able to proceed. He was not injured. and the lorry escaped damage.

Another motorist, travelling to T 6 Awamutu left the road near the Puniu bridge. when he missed his hearing in the fog, and failed to observe the corner. Other minor mishaps have been reported.
