. REVIVAL IN DOMINION. MASTER BUILDERS‘ VIEWS. “During the last few months. carpenters and Joiners throughout the Dominion have been husily engaged in reviving trade unionism. which at the moment appears to be developing rapidly throughout the Dominion and covering all section: of the commu—nity," said the president, Mr W. 8. Young. at the annual meeting of the Hamilton Master Builders‘ and Con—tractors‘ Union last evening. "Frnm many points or View this is desirable as workers should receive standard wages and the working eonditinns should be improved." he added. “Unfortunately, however, many workers endeavour to claim a higher rate of pay than the industry can stand The 4’o liour \Veek is another point whit-h will crop up in the near future and in order to cover ourselves in tendering for work it. is necessary to have a sperm] clause inserted in the conditions of contract when tendering."
