_w_..__-__ CATHOLIC BALL. A Catholic Hall was held recently in To Mata and was a most successful function allhougll marred by very inclemcnt weather. Gll‘mour Brothers‘ Orchestra from Raglan played excellent dance music. and 311- .1. Brown was 31.0. Novelty dances were won by 31155 G. Vernon and Mr F. Vernon, Miss simcock and Mr Jl Comes, and 31.»; Collins and Mr E. Munns. SUCCESSFUL EVENING.
The third of a series 01‘ -500 and dance evenings in aid of a. piano fund for the Buapuke school was held recently in the school room. There i'was a. good attendance and a jolly i evening resulted. Mr Cartwright and Mr M. .Swann were M's.C. and music for dancing was supplied by Mr and Mrs Cartwright. Miss M. 'l‘l'olove and Mr \Vallace Thomson. Prizes for the 600 tournament were won by Mrs Ben Phillips and Mr J. Moore. the booby prizes falling to Mrs W. Thomson and Mr Allan Logan. PERSONAL. Miss Sieberi. of Leamington, is visiting her sister. Mrs H. Watkins, at Te Mata. Mrs and Miss Stone, of Auckland, are the guesls of Mrs R. F. \'ernon, of Te Mata.
Mrs R, T. Vernon has returned after an enjoyable holiday spent at St. Ileliers Bay.
