Captain Paula Lnngkiltie, of [he Oioruhangn Guides, led the party. and a very pleasant evening was spent in games, i-ompelitions. and Guide items.
Lieutenant Hitchings was pl'escntecl with it. beautiful crystal bowl, as a token of the respect in which she was held by the Girl Guides, with whom she had long been associated. The singing 01' “She's a Jolly Good Fellow" followed supper. and the evening was brought to a close with the singing of “Auld Lang Syne." MASQUERADE BALL. . A largely attended masquerade hall was held at the Maihiihi Hall, recently, the considerable proceeds of which will augment the United Football Club. O'Rourke‘s Orchestra provided the dance musir, whilc paper hats. novelty and balloon dam-Cs were much onjoled.
