NEW ZEALAND BUTTER.
AUCKLAND, Friday. Advices from London state that the market for New Zealand butter is firm at the unchanged price of 88s per cvvt. Cheese values are slightly higher. White is selling at 5Gs Gd per cvvt. and coloured at 555. The market is firm. The monthly report of Amalgamated Dairies, Limited, states that butter shipments from Australia continued to be on a much lighter scale than last year, to the benefit of the materially larger summer production in the Dominion. In the Argentine the Dairy Industry Control Board was continuing the bonus payment of 15 centavos (say Id) per lb. butter-fat, which was paid to suppliers through the medium of llie butter factories. The January output of factory butter in Great Britain totalled" 1469 lons, compared with 907 tons in January, 1935. On the other hand, the production of factory cheese for January, 1936, was rather less than for the previous January. The stock position of cheese was sound, and prospects were distinctly favourable.
