STOCK SALE. AT WAIHOU. The Farmers’ Co-op. Auctioneering Co. Ltd., report having held their fortnightly stock sale at Waihou yesterday, when a medium entry of fat sheep and lambs sold at rates equal to late quotations. Cattle: Cow beef, store and boner -cows were penned in large numbers and competition was steady at rates equal to those rilung at last sale. Potter bulls were yarded in good numbers and prices higher than late rates. A small entry of Jersey heifer calves met with a good sale. Dairies: A small entry. Good quality heifers met with good competition, but small backward sorts were not in aemand. Pigs: A heavy yarding of fat pigs were penned and met with brisk competition, selling at values ruling at late rates. A medium yarding of store and weaner pigs was not so keenly sought, but practically a total -clearance was effected. We quote:— Sheep: Prime wethers, 26s to 29s 8d: light, 22s Gd to 245; prime maiden ewes, 26s to 28s 9d: medium fat lambs, 21s to 225; light, 19s to 20s 3d; store lambs, 13s 6d to 15s; cull lambs, 9s to 10s. Cattle: Prime Hereford cows and heifers. £5 10s; heavy fat cows, £4 15s to £5 10s; medium, £3 16s to £4 7s 6d; medium fat heifers, £3 10s to £5; light fat cows, £3 5s to £3 12s; heavy boners, £2 10s to £3 2s; light, 28s to 365; heavy potter bulls, £5 10s to £7; light, £4 to £5; Jersey heifer calves, £2 10s to £3; small, 38s to £2 ss. Dairies: Good quality Jersey heifers, backward, £4 5s to £4 10s; small and backward, £3 to £3 15s; good Jersey cows, £4 to £4 ss; poorer conditioned, £3 to £3 10s. Pigs: Prime heavy baconers, £3 3s to £3 6s; heavy baconers, £3 to £3 Is; medium, £2 16s to £2 18s; light, £2 12s to £2 14s; heavy porkers, £2 2s to £2 7s; medium, 36s to 395; light, 26s to 30s; large stores, 15s to 225; slips, 10s to 14s; weaners, 3s 6d to 7s 6d. ADDINGTON MARKETSVERY HEAVY ENTRIES. Heavy entries were the rule at the Addington market, except in the store sheep section. Store Sheep.—Values were easier for ewes by Is to Is Gd a head, the penning being mostly aged sorts. Wethers and lambs, both forward and for carrying over, were eu-sier by up to Is. Fat Lambs.—A good sale for a normal yarding. Fat Sheep.—A heavy entry of 5000 butchers’ sheep sold at last week’s rates, but lighter sorts were a shade firmer, exporters being more keenly in the market than last week. Best wethers made 26s to 30s, medium 23-s to 25s Gd, light down to 2is Gd. Ewes made from 22s to 20s for best, 19s to 21s for medium, and down to 14s for light. Fat Cattle. —Poor quality predominated in a heavy entry of 510 head and values were back by 10s a headBest steers made from £lO to £l2 7s Gd, medium £7 10s to £9 10s, best heifers £7 to £9 7s Gd, medium £5 10s to £6 15s, best cows from £0 10s to £8 15s, medium from £5 to £6 ss, inferior down to £3 10s. Fat Pigs.—A good sale for baconers, but a weaker market for porkers. Exporters were in the market for porkers. Baconers made 5d to s£d a lb, porkers 5d to s id.
