NEW REGULATIONS GAZETTED. WELLINGTON, Thursday. The long-looked-for regulations concerning the censorship of film posters and other advertising • matter under the Cinematograph Film Act, 1928, were formally gazetted to-night. The new regulations provide that every person commits an offence who exhibits or uses for the advertisement of any film or who supplies to any person for such purpose any poster which has not been approved by the censor This, of course, does not apply to posters relating to films approved for exhibition by the censor before these regulations came into force (today October .2). Posters cannot be altered in any manner after being approved by the censor who may approve a poster, refuse his approval of it, or have it altered to meet with his approval. A penalty of £5 is provided for persons making false or misleading statements in applications for approval of posters and special fees are to be charged when applicants wish the censor’s examination of posters completed within 48 hours of submission. Should applicants be dissatisfied with the censor’s decision they may appeal to a board of appeal.
