LONDON WOOL SALES.

At the wool sales 11,896 bales were offered, (including 303 New South Wales, 517 South Australian, 1786 West Australian, 2370 Queensland, 799 Victorian, 63 Tasmanian and 6013 New Zealand), of which approximately 7110 were sold. There was a moderate selection of greasy merinos. The principal feature was West Australian clip wools. There'was a good offering of scoureds, all New Zealand sorts. Fair competition was met with and prices were unchanged. There were large withdrawals, chiefly due to the high limits.. Queensland, greasy combings “Amby” downs top price 11 id, average Hid, scoured “Marathon” 28d and 23id; New Zealand, greasy crossbred, “Otairi” 10id and 9(1. POOR COMPETITION REPORTED. DECLINE IN VALUES AT DUNEDIN. DUNEDIN, Thursday. There was poor competition for the supplementary wool sale held yesterday, with many passings. A total of 1400 bales was offered. Local buyers provided the hulk of the competition. Fleece wool showed a drop from the July sale of lid to 2d per pound, while for pieces and crutchings the decline was from 2d-to 3d. HAWKESBURY SALE. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, Hamilton,; report having held a successful sale on account of Mr Chas. Coulter and other well-known breeders at Claudelands. The five yearling bulls, sold on account of Mr Coulter, averaged 29|gns., while the four oilier Hawkesbury bred bulls from Blenheim averaged 26£gns. The bidding on the female stock offered was not brisk, But we disposed of the advertised line of five yearling Jersey heifers, on account of Mr F. L. Johnson, at the satisfactory average of 12gns., and two In-calf Jersey heifers, on account of Mr E. H. Wright, at 25gns a-piece.
