FARMERS’ UNION.
PUTARURU WOMEN’S DIVISION. The September meeting of the Putaruru branch of the Women’s Division was held on Friday last, Mrs Campbell presiding over an attendance of 'twenty members. Mrs Addinbrooke and Mrs Rea were welcomed as new members. Correspondence was received from other branches regarding plans, etc., of the proposed rest-room. A donation for that fund was received from ‘ the local Girl Guides, as also were the proceeds of a social evening held at Lichfield, namely, £3 Bs. The advisory members reported that three housekeepers have been employed in the district recently. The president announced that Mrs Jackson, Dominion president, would visit Putaruru the following week, when a good attendance of members and ' friends is requested. The Electric Power Board held a cooking demonstration during the afternoon.
