CHIPLIN—PEARSON. The marriage was solemnised at St. Matthew’s Church, Auckland, between Miss Edna Estelle Pearson, second daughter of Mr and Mrs A. Pearson, of Claudelands, Hamilton, and Mrs Edward John Chiplin, son of Mr and Mrs H. Chiplin, of Wairoa Avenue, Birkenhead. She was attended by two bridesmaids, Miss Iris Pearson, Hamilton, sister of the bride, and Miss Carrie Catchpole (Kaipaki). Their frocks were fashioned alike in eau-de-nil tiered georgette over satin, with tight-fitting satin bodices, the skirts slightly drooping at the back and finished at the waistline with a large soft satin bow. They carried shower bouquets of amber tinted flowers and fern, and each wore a necklace of amber beads (the gift of the bridegroom). They wore large picture hats of felt to match their dresses. The best man was Mr G. Lawson, and groomsman Mr Harvey Chiplin. After the ceremony a reception was held, Mrs Pearson receiving her guests in a navy silk moire and georgette ensemble with blue Bangkok hat.
