WEDDING.
CHIPLIN—PEARSON. The marriage was solemnised at St. Matthew’s Church, Auckland, between Miss Edna Estelle Pearson, second daughter of Mr and Mrs A. Pearson, of Claudelands, Hamilton, and Mrs Edward John Chiplin, son of Mr and Mrs H. Chiplin, of Wairoa Avenue, Birkenhead. Canon Grant Cowen performed the ceremony, and Mr Philpot presided at the organ. The bride, who entered the church with her uncle, Mr Eric Pearson, looked charming in an ivory souple satin gown draped and caught at the waistline with a spray of orange blossom. Her embroidered circular veil xvas held in place by a chaplet of orange blossom beads, and she carried a' shower bouquet of white orcliids, 'pale pink icarnafiions, sweet peas and fern. She was attended by two bridesmaids, Miss Iris Pearson, Hamilton, sister of the bride, and Miss Carrie Catchpole (Kaipaki). Their frocks were fashioned alike in eau-de-nil tiered georgette over satin, with tight-fitting satin bodices, the skirts slightly drooping at the back and finished at the waistline with a large soft satin bow. They carried shower bouquets of amber tinted flowers and fern, and each wore a necklace of amber beads (the gift of the bridegroom). They wore large picture hats of felt to match their dresses. The best man was Mr G. Lawson, and groomsman Mr Harvey Chiplin. After the ceremony a reception was held, Mrs Pearson receiving her guests in a navy silk moire and georgette ensemble with blue Bangkok hat. Mrs Chiplin wore a navy blue georgette ensemble suit, with Bangkok hat to tone. The usual toasts were honoured, and later the happy couple left by car en route for the honeymoon.
