FAREWELL PARTY.

TO MRS WILHELM BACKHAUB. Mrs E. J. Gravestock invited a number of guests to her flat at “Templeton,” Elizabeth Bay, Sydney, to say farewell to Mrs Backhaus, wife of the pianist, who is leaving for Melbourne, en route for Adelaide and Perth. The hostess presented Mrs Backhaus with a posy of blue lupins, which gave a pleasing note of colour to her beige ensemble. Mrs Gravestock wore a smart navy model, showing a deep collar and cuffs of point lace. The tea tables were decorated, in a gold scheme.
