The President, Senor Irigoyen, has resigned in favour of the Vice-Presi-dent,, Senor Martinez, whose first act was a declaration of a state of siege. The President’s resignation was greeted throughout the city by shrieking sirens and the exploision of bombs. Senor Juan Della Gampa, Minister of Justice, represented the entire Cabinet on Thursday night In urging the President to resign, but he held off. Since the conference the elty has been excited by clashes between students and police. Two persons were killed and four wounded on - Thursday night in a fight in the Plaza del Mayo. Three thousands students held a de-« monstration in the Plaza on Friday.
