REBELS IN INDIA.

An amazing situation has arisen In the Scitara district, where over 4000 jungle tribesmen, inflamed by Congress agitators, are in revolt and defying large forces of Government armed police and troops. A special battalion which left Poona to quell the disturbance found on arrival at the village of Bilashi, the centre of the agitation, that the tribesmen bad destroyed a large quantity of Government property, and had hoisted the Congress flag over the temple and defied the police to apnew deity. Two hundred women encircled the temple an ddefled the police to approach. Opposed by a mob of many thousands the police retreated, and are now awaiting reinforcements.
