In the Legislative Council Air Coates drew attention to an allegation that lie and three other Labour members — Alessrs Ryan, Alahoney, and Percival were concerned in tlie receipt of £SOO as graft money to secure the defeat of the Transport Bill. They denied the accusation, and asked that a 'Commission of Inquiry be appointed. The Attorney-General (Hon. F. s. Boyce) replied that if sufficient facts were adduced an investigation would be ordered.
