WAIKATO MARKETS. WEEKLY' REVIEW. Beef.—Good yardings of all classes Of beef continue to come forward, and the prices for prime quality cattle are much the same as what they were last week. Plain and inferior beef is not sought after, and is hard to dispose of. Prime ox is making from 34s to 35s per 1001 b, and cow and heifer 29s to 30s. Fat Sheep.—There has been sufficient coming forward to meet the demand, and . very little change has taken place in the fat sheep market. Any prime fat lambs yarded have been meeting with good competition, but the freezing price for lambs has been reduced. Store Sheep—The good competition which has been experienced for all classes of store sheep has apparently come to an end, as all classes are showing an easing tendency; especially is this noticeable in store lambs which up to the present time have been in extra keen demand. Most of the farmers requiring breeding ewes now have their flocks completed, and most of the ewes sold are in small lots. Store Cattle. —-The market for all classes of store cattle is easier. Grown steers are wanted, and at the recent beef sales are, fetching satisfactory prices. Store 'cows and boner cows are a good bit easier. There is a fair inquiry for choice in-calf heifers* and also for good quality Jersey weaner heifer calves. Inferior quality heifers are not wanted. Pigs.—Heavy yardings and strong competition’ still continue for all classes of pigs, and all the baoon companies’ buyers are operating freely. Horses. —There is still a good demand for useful farm horses, but heavy and .aged horses are not wanted.
