Whitiora 2 for 18 (Nolan, 10 not out) beat Fairfield 16 (Slater 6). For Whitiora PortCr took 4 wickets for 4, and Choat 4 for 7. Anderson, for Whitiora, stumped three. Southwell A (112 for 6 wickets) declared —Perkins 44, Ray 27, Craig 21, v.' West (6 for 46) —Magnall 14, Jones 13, Mclntosh 10. For Southwell Renshaw took 3 wickets for 22, and Gordon 2 for 22. For West, Holmes took 4 for 23. Southwell B 118 (Mizen 35, Hannon 27, Holderness 24, Wilkie 12) beat Hillcrest 14. For Southwell / Holderness took 3 wickets for 3, and ElliOt 5 for 6. juniors. West 56 (Pearson 10, Crump 14) beat Fairfield 40 (McDonald 19, Paterson 10). East made 81 for 9 wickets against Marists, who have yet to bat. , Whitiora 26 for 2 wickets (Shannon 11, not out; Atkinson 8) beat Frankton 22 (Craig, .8 not out). For Whitiora Ilaughey and' Cann took 3 wickets each. - KING’S COLLEGE MATCH. AUCKLAND, Thursday. The annual cricket match between the-old boys and present eleven of King’s College was played yesterday, and resulted in a win for the present team by 76 runs on the first innings. THE TEAM FOR ENGLAND. REPORT BA SELECTORS. WELLINGTON, Wednesday. As a result of the matches played with the English cricket team during the season the New Zealand selection committee has issued a report which states that in the first place it is satisfied with New Zealand’s batting strength, but Is certain that there are several promising players who have not yet represented New Zealand who would develop into first-class batsmen if given the opportunity. These players are advised to keep fit during the off-season, and be ready to start practice early next season.-
