TE AKAU SCHOOLS.

SUCCESSFUL PICNIC. The combined Te Akau and Te Akau South Schools’ picnic was held in perfect weather. Parents and friends of the children assembled frota all parts, thus helping to make the picnic a great success. Great credit is due to the teachers, who worked hard. Races and competitions were held and were thoroughly enjoyed. The lunch provided by the ladies was greatly appreciated.

After afternoon tea the chairman (Mr McClure), asked Mr R. Kellow to present the prizes. The points prize cup and shield for competition between the two schools were won toy Te Akau South—46 points to 36. The cup is one presented by the Herbert Smith Trust to he competed for each year.
