THE HAMILTON CLUB. A GOOD j RACE. The Hamilton Homing Club continued Ihe second series of young bird races on Saturday,With ap event from Taumarunui, airline distance, 75 miles, Ten members entered seventy-two birds, ancl they Avcre liberated by the station-master at -• 12.5 p.m. The Aveather being favourable, the birds made a good flight home, the AVinner being clocked in at 1 hour 53 minutes and 39 seconds. The folloAA’ing were the velocities recorded: —J. E. Hopkinson’s “ Billie,” 1228yds per minute, 1; C. Crabb’s “ Dad’s Hope," 1227yds per minute, 2; Ashton and Woodcock’s "Kent Girl,” 1223yds, per minute, 3. Other competitors in order, Avere :—A. Sharpe, 1221yds; Green Bros., 1220yds; C. Mayes, 1219yds; W. G. Pountney, 1215.0yd5; E. Sutton, 1215.3yd5; R. Scott, 1212yds; Bushell Bros., 1 184yds.
