FORCE DISBANDED.
SPECIAL POLICE FOR SAMOA. 228 MEN PAID OFF. (By Telegraph-—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Monday. After spending five weeks in training the special police force for Samoa will be disbanded. To-day 228 men were paid off at a cost of £*.*7oo. Twenty-five officers and non-com-missioned officers will remain in camp and eleven privates will be retained to relieve members of the Samoan pohce force who return to-day. The force was an exceptionally fine body of men, and they are disappointed at the turn affairs have taken.
