little boy drowned. AUCKLAND, Monday. In Mechanics’ Bay yesterday afternoon the body of Geoffrey Bruce Neville, aged seven years, was recovered from the water. No one saw the accident. YOUNG WOMAN DROWNED. . DUNEDIN, Sunday. A young woman, Mavis McAlister, was drowned while swimming in a pond at Whare Flat to-day. She was 26 years of age and lived at Roslyn. DEATH OF A MOTOR-CYCLIST. CHRISTCHURCH, Sunday. A motor-cyclist, Mr. Donald Fry, a single man, died last evening as a result of injuries received earlier in the day. YOUNG MAN FATALLY BURNED. WANGANUI, Sunday. With terrible burns about the head and the upper part of his body, Frederick Arthur Troughton, aged 25, a married man, was admitted to the hospisal on Saturday morning, and died early this morning. Deceased was occupied in draining petrol from the tank of a car when he became enveloped in dames as a result of the petrol igniting. MAN’S SUDDEN DEATH. WHILE PLAYING BILLIARDS. DUNEDIN, Sunday. While playing a game in a billiard saloon Mr. Alfred Octave Oudaille, aged 73, collapsed and died on the way to the hospital.
