POLICE TRANSFERS.
SERGEANTS PROMOTED. FINE RECORDS OF SERVICE. Strgeant J. H. Mathicson, who for the past 18 months has been stationed at Hamilton, will leave shortly for Timaru to the position of Senior-Ser-geant there. Since joining the force in 1901, Sergeant Mathieson has seen service throughout the Dominion, being stationed' at various times at Dunedin, Invercargill, Queenstown, Riverton, Havelock, Wellington, Gore, Ashburton, Matamata, and Hamilton. He served in the 'South African war and the late World War. Sergeant A. E. J. Stark, who for four years has been stationed at the Frankton police station, will leave shortly to take over his duties as Senior-Sergeant at Napier. Sergeant Stark, who joined the force in 1907 at Wellington, has seen service on practically the whole of the West Coast district, and it was while at Ross that he was promoted to the rank of sergeant and transferred lo Wellington. From Wellington lie came to Frankton.
