Thursday The Chief Justice to-day reversed the judgment >of the Magistrate on the appeal of McCallum, owner of a bullock which, while .one of a mob in charge of a drover in Ngahauranga Gorge, injured John Edward Hi el - The case rested on an allegation of negligence, but the evidence showed that the procedure taken was that generally adopted for many years. No affirmative evidence of negligence had been called, said the Chief Justice. The case was undoubtedly a hard one, but in his opinion the judgment appealed from was erroneous and must bo reversed. Costs amounting to £lO were allowed.
