WELLINGTON, Thursday. \ new system of booking railway seats is now in force which was evolved by departmental officers after studying other methods. It is expected to eliminate duplications and other errors, and enables reservations to be made by telephone or telegraph at a flat rate of Is per scat. The old system required six entries on the ticket and six on the berthing plan. A card system and numbering machine now do U'c work in a much simpler form. Several offices can reserve on Urn same train. Tlic innovation has had a thorough Inal and lias proved very satisfactory.
