In 'connection with the Press Association message from Gisborne regarding an action in which R. H. Skipwith secured judgment against the Poverty Bay Turf Club for the amount of starting fees through a postponement of the meeting, Mr Skipwith explains that the report omits that he offered to settle Uie case on the basis of payment on one day’s fee and £3 3s expenses. This sc 1-1,1 e’ment, as stated by Mr Skipwith’s counsel during the hearing, was refused by the club.
