RULES INTERPRETATION.
RUGBY FOOTBALL CODE. A WELCOME INNOVATION. The interpretation of certain rules of the Rugby code has always caused confusion among players from the senior grades downward. As it is of paramount importance that those participating in any game should have more than a rudimentary knowledge of the rules governing its efficient control, the knowledge that the Waikato Referees’ Association is willing to assist clubs in becoming fully acquainted with these necessary rules should be welcomed in local circles. At tlie meeting of Hie Frankton Football Club last evening, Mr. C. N. Rabone stated that the Referees’ Association was open to assist the clubs as far as possible by explaining tiie correct interpretation of any rules that were not clearly understood. Last season the association had visited country districts and the interest .shown in these lectures, which had been well altended, amply repaid them for the trouble entailed. A player needed a secondary school education io interpret some rulings, said Mr. Rabone, and in the interests of the code, referees would, by invitation. attend club practices, and clear up any points on which there was any doyes*
