Mr Kaye Don, English racing motorist, after making two runs today over the speedway at Daytona Beach, Florida, at an average speed of 168 miles ail hour, was forced to slop by renewed engine trouble. Once the motorist drove at 172 miles an hour, after which a petrol pipe was broken. Mr Don expects to continue bis trials to-morrow, weather permitting. If be cannot make an attempt on the record to-morrow, further runs may he delayed for several days owing to the time of the high tide, which forced him to delay the repair of to-day’s break until this evening. Although the car was seen to hit several bumps it appeared to hold the course well. Mr Don had no trouble in controlling it at high speed in spite of the imperfect visibility. A sketch and some interesting details of Kaye DonVs machine, the Silver Bullet, appear on page 3.
