CHRISTCHURCH, Tuesday. The management of the New Zealand Amateur Championships at Wanganui was criticised to-day by Mr G. L. Austin, manager of the Canterbury team. , ... He said the Wanganui officials, with one or two exceptions, were below par. One or two bad errors had been made in judging, and the whole conduct of the meeting was unsatisfactory.

The Oxford crew has not yet arrived, but the boats for the 'Varsity boat race are nearing completion. Both are being constructed from the same cedar log. Each is 624 feet long but the Cambridge boat’s beam is 23$ inches, or one-eighth of an inch wider than Oxford’s, because the crew averages 21b heavier. BOXING. MORGAN DEFEATS GRIME. (ißy Telegraph—Special to Times.) DUNEDIN, Tuesday. The fight between Ted Morgan, lOst 3Jlb, and Billy Grime, 9st 121 b, this evening, went the full distance. Morgan won comfortably on points. The contest was marked by holding and clinching practically throughout. Grime was the worst offender.
CARNERA AGAIN. WIGGINS KNOCKED OUT. United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel.—CoDyrig-ht. NEW YORK, March 17. A boxing match at St. Louis between Primo Camera, the Italian giant, and Wiggins attracted a record attendance of 19,000 spectators. -Camera, 19st 51b, knocked out Wiggins 14st 111 b, in the second round. Wiggins was not able to avoid the Italian’s ferocious drives, which twice knocked him from the ring. 1 Camera’s blows were practically all rights and lefts to the head. POLO. SAVILLE CUP TOURNAMENT. TWO TEAMS FROM WAIKATO. The Saville Cup polo tournament will commence at Feilding on Wednesday of next week. -In the representation from this district two teams have been entered in the name of the Matangi Club.
