India is resisting the charge of 50 centimes per word for Australasian cables, while only '.i,j centimes is charged other countries. Colonists at present residing in London are urging upon the Austra* lian colonies to strongly protest against the injustice of the charge, and unless the dispute is speedily settled the new tariff cannot come into operation before January.
