MEETING OF CREDITORS.
The first general meeting of the credi i tors of Patrick McMahon, of Hamilton, shoemaker, a bankrupt, was held at Mr J. S. Edgecumbe's office, The Waikato Times Buildings, Hamilton West, on Tuesday last, Present : — Messrs E. T. Davey, A. Scott, W. F. Bell (in person), J. R. E. Hatrick (by proxy) ; Mr G. H. Carter, agent for Mr J. M. Gelling, was also present. Mr E. T. Davey was elected chairman and read the notification convening the meeting ; also the bankrupts' statement of assets and liabilities, liabilities £96 5s sd, assets £53 ; and the personal sworn statement of the bankrupt. The bankrupt produced several letters from his Auckland creditors and the same were read to the meeting. Resolved. That this meeting is cf opinion that the debtor's bankruptcy has been caused by sickness and misfortune, and, therefore hand him back all the furniture and tools of trade now in his possession—and that the bankrupt's offer of 5s in the £ be accepted, payable in five instalments at intervals of three months each.
