HUNTLY.
Case of Horse Stealing.—A lad, named E. Williams, was rather promptlycaptured yesterday, by Constable White, on a charge of horse stealing. It appears that Mr Alexander, of Pukete, missed a horse from his place in tho morning, and following up tracks which he observed in the direction of Ngaruawahia, he there heard of his animal and its rider, and pushing on to Huntly he gave Constable White a description of 'he horse, and the constable immediately proceeded by the goods train which was just leaving, and keeping a look out on tho way down descried his quarry, and alighting at Rangiriri, quietly awaited his coming, ani then having taken him in charge, returned here. He was brought before Messrs Graham and Ralph, this morning, and charged with the offence and remanded, Williams states that he purchased a horse out of the Te Awamutu pound, for 10s, a short time ago, and exchanged it for the »ne he is supposed to have stolen, with a mm he met on the way, he giving 5s to boo*\
