AN entertainment and coft'ee supper in aid of the Weslejan Sunday-school was held >n Thursday evening-, wlion tlia schoolroom was crowded to sntfucation ; indeed, several could not gain admittance. Very great praise is due to Miss Priestley for the manner in which she had trained the juvenile performers, and they certainly did her credit. Some of the performers were very young, one being only four years of ;.i;e, but they one and all acquitted themselves splendidly. The following was the programme :—Song and chorus, " No Ruse without a Thorn," children ; song, " Robin, Dear Robin," Freda Siminonds ; piano duet, Jennie and Alice McNeish ; song, " A Stitch in Time Saves Nine,'' children ; recitation, '• The Cow," Arthur Topple ; character song, " Auntie," Mrs C. Hunter; song, "The Lazy Slump," Ivy Nixon ; violin solo, Charlie Simnionds ; duet, "The Sparrow on the Tree," I'.lanche and Maud Reynolds; song and chorus, "The Fox and the Grow," children; song, " l'leaso (Jive Mo a runny.'" Lena Xeal ; recitation, "The Kiss in School," Willi.) Tuck ; piano duet, May and Ruby Nixon; cantata, " Father Christmas "—Fathei Christmas, Miss Roberts; Fairies Pleasure and Discontent, Masses Simmonds and MeLeish— (excellentlv rendered); recitation, "Ourfuw Shall not Ring To-night," Mav Nixon ; duet, "Two Merry Hearts," Misses Simmonds and Priestley; trio, "A Little Faun Well 'idled," Misses (Jaley (:.') and Wallace. The refreshments w.uv then handed riiliid, and the i.snal v. I:s of thanks closed the proceedings.
