ACCIDENTS.

Blenheim, Last Night. John Commander, aged 23, mannger of Nelson Brothers' slaughtering works, was thrown from his horse on his return from the Hunt Club races at Spring Creek on Saturday. He never recovered consciousness, and died two hours afterwards, his skull being fractured and his neck partially dislocated. Before Dr. Alexander arrived from Blenheim life was extinct. An inquest will be held to-morrow. Deceased receives a Masonic funeral on Tuesday. Alexander Mowat, of Altirnarloch, a sheep farmer, who was seriously injured in a buggy accident, was brought into town. Dr. Alexander is in attendance. The accident is of a most serious nature, as his intestines are protruding. Wellington, Last Night. A lad of fifteen, named Alfred Cook, was out shooting in a boat at Makarau yesterday. When stepping ashore he took the gun by the muzzle and it exploded, killing him instantly. The trigger caught in the seat, lodging the charge in the breast (if deceased. Ha merely exclumed " I'm shot "and died. He was accompanied by his brother.
