There was an enormous crowd at the mooting in Hyde Park, atul the proceedings pass »d off without any disorder. Speeches wcr; delivered from seventeen platforms which had boon Greeted, and at each of these resolutions were carried favouring the introduction of an Inteinational Eight Hours ftyotein. A few red flags and Anarchists banners were displayed, but the crowd ignored thorn. The number of police on duty in the "West End was trebled, but., except in a few instances, their services were not required. Meetings similar to that in Hyde Park wore held in Glasgow, Birming • han, and a few other largo centres, but they were all of a very orderly character. Telegrams from the Continent state that everything passed off quietly. Several additional regiments entered Paris before daybreak and formed a guard round the banks, law courts and prisons. A thick coating of sand was laid on the street to prevent horses from slipping in the event of tlio cavalry bciug called on to change the crowd.
