KIRIKIRIROA ROAD BOARD

The usual monthly meeting of the Kirikiriroa Road Board was held at Hamilton yesterday. There were present Messrs Primrose (chairman), White, Gillett, McLean. Material Taken. —Tho clerk reported that he had been unable to find out who had been taking material from the River road. —It was resolved to insert a notice in The Waikato Times cautioning peopl« against so doing.—Mr F. R. Claude offered ground for a gravel pit at £20 per acre. —It was rpsolved to accept the effer. The ground is to be surveyed at once, and a substantial fence will be erected, under the supervision of Messrs Primrose and the clerk.

Mangawhara Road.—A letter was received from Messrs Litt'.ewood and Welsh re the bad state of the Mangawhara swamp road, and saying that if something waa not done at once, it would be utterly impassable in the winter. —Tenders are to be called for making a drain along this road about a mile in length, and arrangements are to be left in Mr McLean's hands.

Maori Burial Ground.—The chairman was authorised to employ Mr Quick, interpreter, to explain the gazette notice to the Maoris making the Board the trustees of the burial ground. Spreading.—Mr Lowe was empowered to speud £5 on snagging the branch of the Mangawhara leading up to his and other people's places. Accounts. —The following accounts were passed for payment, viz : —Johnson, £7 2s ; joy, jun., £1 15s ; railway freight, 7s 9d ; Kiley, £5 9s 2d ; commission on rates collected, £11 its lid.
